&Lab looks to facilitate projects and connections across initiatives invested in civically engaged academic work in the arts and the humanities. Some of the initiatives and organizations that offer resources and interested partners within Cornell University and beyond include:
Rural Humanities
Andrew W. Mellon supported an initiative that uses the tools of the humanities to critically approach, learn from, make visible, and support the realities of rural America, particularly in Central-Western New York. 2021-22 Rural Humanities is Radically Indigenous.
The David M. Einhorn Center for Community Engagement
Offers programs, workshops, consultations and funding to support students, faculty, staff and alumni who are collaborating with communities — locally and around the globe — to create a better world
HHTF: Homeless and Housing Task Force
Facilitated by the Human Services Coalition, the HHTF offers community discussions on emergency shelter, supplemental food programs, and affordable housing, among other social and cultural concerns in the Ithaca region.
Humanities New York
Offers grants and other resources for projects and institutions aimed at strengthening civil society and the bonds of community through humanistic inquiry.
