The once-in-a-generation legal treatise relied upon by judges and attorneys, via the American Law Institute.

The Legal Constructs Lab is supporting the drafting of the Land Use Volume of the Fourth Restatement of Property Law, which aims to bring comprehensiveness and coherence to American property law.

Professor Bronin is one of ten “Reporters” on this project, led by Harvard Law professor Henry E. Smith.  Each reporter drafts and guides certain pieces of the Restatement through a years-long consultative process, review by the American Law Institute (ALI) Council, and adoption by the ALI membership, which consists of judges, professors, and practicing attorneys. Professor Bronin is leading the development of the volume on land use, a subject that has never been covered in a previous Restatement. In addition to land use, this Restatement will cover the classification of entitlements, possession, accession, and acquisition; ownership powers; protection of and limits on ownership; divided and shared ownership; title and transfer; easements, servitudes; and public rights and takings.

The Land Use Volume has been reviewed and favorably recommended by the ALI Council and the ALI membership. Upon completion of the entire Fourth Restatement of Property Law, it will published as Volume 7 of the project.
