Laraiah Maranan is an Urban and Regional Studies student that is passionate about helping communities become more sustainable and equitable. She’s previously conducted research on ensuring housing affordability and preventing displacement in California’s Bay Area and currently co-leads a Cornell University Sustainable Design project team that supports the City of Ithaca with policy strategies to inform its path to carbon neutrality. Aspiring to work within the realm of sustainable urban development, Laraiah’s various interests include community engagement, data science, spatial analysis, affordable housing, urban design, and building decarbonization.
