Farzana Hossain

B.Arch Cornell AAP - Architecture

Farzana Hossain is a fourth year B.Arch Student whose focus lies in the intersection of architecture and sustainability. As an advocate for the environment, her primary goal is developing ideas that would think critically about the material construction, adaptation and demolition as part of the design process. Her interest in research and sustainability stems from her previous internship experiences in Scandinavian offices and a study trip to Norway where she studied the construction of local structures made of biodegradable materials. She is focusing on the use of building materials from waste to combat the volume of construction and demolition in the built environment. She truly believes that the most successful development strategy is to depend on local readily available materials instead of depending on external systems.
