Joseph McGranahan is a Research Associate in the CCL. His primary area of research focuses on utilizing emerging digital tools to assess material content, embodied carbon and circularity within the built environment, ranging from the scale of construction assemblies to that of entire cities. His undergraduate thesis, “The Circular Community’s Manual” explored methods of communicating and implementing circular processes to amplify the efforts of not-for-profit housing organizations in the South Bronx, aiding in their mission to build economic resilience and engagement within communities.
