Wenjie Zhang

Wenjie Zhang is a second-year Master of Regional Planning student at Cornell University. She is passionate about environmental planning and urban resilience, and focuses on the potential contradictory consequences of urban physical improvement in terms of building resilience and incurring spatial injustice. She is working on a project to identify the landscape changes driven by tourism development in Southwest China.
In the Adaptive Land Lab, she supports research concerning the social and ecological effects of watershed management in buyout parcels in Houston. Her capstone master's project also supports the SNAG project, examining the gentrification impacts of sponge city development in Shanghai.
