Chengyu Wang
COLLABORATING RESEARCHER
Chengyu Wang is a graduate of the Master's in Regional Planning program at Cornell University. He developed his passion for urban planning and community development during his undergraduate studies in Human Geography and Urban-Rural Planning in China, with a particular focus on urban shrinkage, population aging, and regional policy. He is committed to seeking planning strategies for a sustainable and inclusive urban future.
Chengyu possesses extensive practical planning experience covering land use planning, urban renewal, age-friendly planning, and environmental planning. As an intern at the Zhejiang Provincial Institute of Urban and Rural Planning and Design, he contributed to urban renewal design projects, conducting resident surveys and data analysis. At the Bureau of Natural Resources and Planning in Xinchang County, Zhejiang Province, he participated in village planning and spatial planning using technical tools.
Chengyu has strong technical proficiency, including GIS, data analysis, Adobe Creative Suite design software, photography, video editing, and UAV operation. During his studies at Cornell, he was awarded the City and Regional Planning Graduate Student Community Service Award and the New York Upstate Chapter APA Student Project Award. He also served as a Research Assistant in the Just Places Lab and continues to collaborate with the Lab after graduation.
