Yu graduated with a M.S. degree in Regional Science from Cornell University. She is now a collaborating PhD researcher at Rutgers University. Her academic interest particularly lies in the intersections between social policy and inequity. Her research agenda focuses on understanding the impact of social policies on the lived experiences of people in the urban environment, especially women, migrants, or ethnically minor groups. She eventually hopes to use mapping and visualization to transform her scholarly work into engagement materials for the public.
